A major boundary between the compositing and 3D environments is there is great time and effort involved in matching lighting in a synthetic scene to that of the real scene. I aim to design a tool that makes the light-matching task easier and faster to accomplish. The aim of the tool is not to replace manual light matching, but to aid the process. I am going to research previous light matching tools and programming methods and apply it to produce a new tool. Photographs of light probes within the real environment will be used as the light matching data.
