Compelling Interaction: An Investigation into Design for Play

View all projects

By Tomas Woodbridge

abstract

In this project I have explored some ideas relating to interface design and inter-action. The study begins with some general thoughts concerning game design and videogames, and progresses into a discussion of interactivity and the concept of \ludic design”. These ideas are then used to inform the design and development of a small game program, created in C++ using OpenGL and SDL. With this program I intended to implement the design principles discussed, and succeed in engaging users through use of interface and interactivity.
