This report discusses the role of animation in education. It looks at how the human mind learns, subdividing learning into two major components: ~ UNDERSTANDING and MEMORY. It addresses the issue as to whether animation can improve both components for individuals of all learning categories: visual, auditory and kinaesthetic. A short film has been produced to illustrate the advantages and possible disadvantages of animation in teaching, scientific material in particular. Memory techniques, mnemonics have been researched and an initial story-board developed to demonstrate such techniques visually. Other areas investigated include: Abstraction of data, Possible further experimentation and Morphing in Maya.
