Many models exist that describe the growth of trees in 3D computer graphics. These techniques allow the computer to efficiently simulate the development of natural systems using only a limited set of rules to create a visually complex result. This report documents the techniques involved in the creation of these systems, and presents examples of their differing implementations. Analysing these systems will provide a series of points that enable the creation of a unique solution to CG tree growth. Finally, upon completion of this practical response, it will be possible to critically evaluate the proposed technical solution in order to determine the success of the project.
The onus of this report lies in the documentation and evaluation of the relevant research collected, and the development of an innovative solution to a personal challenge.
