This paper poresents the research and development undertaken to develop a practical concept to emulate the effects of artist’s ink. The concept differs from previous work as it aims to process animation to give it the characteristics of bleeding ink, maintaining frame to frame consistency over the animation. This will create the effect of the ink bleeding across a surface as though it has a ‘life’ of its own. Although this pape purely deals with the conceptual development, a practical solution must be developed which can be implemented.
