This project is an Innovations study into the external forces acting upon a pool side diver. A series of three short dives displaying such influences have been produced as a result. Alias/Wavefront’s MAYA was used to create a low-polygon model for the animation that would be suitable for a PC game. MAYA was also used to rotoscope live footage as a guide for the animation. Pixar’s Renderman was then used to render the dives and Softimages’ Eddie for post-production.
This report aims to briefly cover the development of the project and the sources influencing it. The various areas involved in the production of the finished dives are to be covered in sufficient detail as to show how they were completed and why they were innovative for me.
