Real-time Tracking and Compositing for use in on set 2D Pre-visualisation

View all projects

By Edward Sargeant

abstract

With the introduction of the modern day digital set extension, the cameraman is being forced to imagine how the final shot will look in order to define camera framing and movement. It is now apparent that there exists the problem of a lack of information in the shot, to detail where specific parts of the virtual set will be. This therefore calls for the introduction of a form of on set pre-visualisation to give a rough description of where the final set extensions will be after the post production phase. This in turn will help to better explain how a shot can be framed throughout the filming process.
