The Influence of Music on Painting and Animation

Abstract:
This essay explores the subject of art influenced by music. It aims to place the subject in
historical context, and explore a few ways in which music has influenced painting and
animation. Comparisons are made between Wassily Kandinsky, Oskar Fischinger and
contemporary artist, Jane Mackay. The essay explores ways in which music has
influenced their work, and discusses similarities and differences between them.
