Since its establishment in 1989 The National Centre for Computer Animation has conducted research of international significance and has pioneered both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computer visualisation and animation and digital effects. "Bournemouth has provided a large part of the workforce that has made the UK a world leader in feature film visual effects, helping to guarantee that franchises such as Harry Potter and Batman remain in the country."
